"Fighting Back Against Parkinson's"
Rock Steady Boxing, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, gives people with Parkinson’s disease hope by improving their quality of life through power, strength, flexibility and speed to defend against and overcome opponents. At RSB, Parkinson’s disease is the opponent. Exercises vary in purpose and form but share one common trait: they are rigorous and intended to extend the perceived capabilities of the participant. These classes have proven that anyone, at any level of Parkinson’s, can actually lessen their symptoms and lead a healthier/happier life.
Our location welcomes all fighters men or women of any age and at any stage of Parkinson's Disease. This program has two locations in Volusia County. Participants must complete a Health and Functional Assessment prior to participation. The assessment takes roughly 45 minutes to complete and will help to establish the appropriate class for you to attend, their is an enrollment fee to join which includes everything you need to get started.
The Edgewater location runs classes on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays and the Holly Hill/Pictona location has classes on Tuesday and Thursday.
